CHAPTERS & BOOK BITS

It's in the small moments

Your readers are ready.

Formatting can be fun, especially with a story like yours! If you are looking for that finished touch, why not try on a chapter header or two? Maybe a page break to help your reader connect that much more with you. Finish off with end pages that have patterns and life from cover to cover.

The details aren't small to us.

Digital

Digitally drawn lines for casual whimsy.

Our most affordable option, digital sketches can be quick to change and leave us with a vintage, fairytale vibe we love to see from fantasy to contemporary.

This style is for printing in limited range color, tighter timelines, and leans itself to stories with quirky or moody elements.

Love lines, looking for more bold, more romance? Our art is hand drawn and can be painted or penned to give you storytelling that has a bold, timeless, classic feel.

This style suits those who want a little bit of everything in their illustrations to bring their project to life.

What to Expect

We all have a process. Here is a sneak peak into ours.

Rendering

We have had our chats, now for the fun.

Sketches are where all our changes happen. We will approve those together. One sketch revision is included in every work to be sure we get all the details just right.

If your project is going to be penned, then the paint goes down next. Once dried all our work will be digitally rendered and retouched to give us the best quality for printing.

We have reached the finish line.

Your illustrations are ready and it's time to share your words with the world. You will receive a pdf or png of your artwork to use with your chosen editor / publisher.

Other finished forms can be discussed as need on a case by case basis.

Packages & Pricing

The Nitty Gritty

Once your request has been received and we have determined that we are a good fit for each other, I will reach out with a package quoting and outlining your options. Your quote is tentative and as we get into the nitty gritty of the project can be tweaked as we see fit. There is no need to stress the particulars here.

Once you are comfortable with your quote we can arrange payment. Payment plans are available for larger projects. Small projects will be paid in full up front to reserve time in my calendar. Larger projects require a deposit of 25% of the quoted amount to reserve your time in my calendar. The second 25% of your payment may be paid once your project formally begins and the final 50% on completion of the project before final delivery. Further payment plans can be arranged on request.

It is important to me that you see our relationship as collaborative. I don't ever want you to feel like your voice is lost in the process and want to encourage open communication. If you have any questions please ask. If you don't love something, or want to workshop a point, I want to do that too. In the same way, I hope you feel the same respect for me in return. I might come to you if a scene isn't lining up with the request, if I feel the imagery needs adjusting to really get your voice across, or in places where the art can do some of the talking so your words don't have to be so heavy. My goal is always to make sure your work shines.

Once I have received your requests and our quote has been finalized, I am happy to schedule video chat or call, where appropriate for large scale projects, to walk through any complex details. At this point you are welcome to share any illustration requests, general concepts, settings, etc. that are must haves, which may not have been covered in your initial request. I will then go away and once the completed sketches have been worked up I will share this with you for review. For complex projects, are welcome to schedule another chat at this time to go over any concerns you may have or final outline tweaks. Once the drafts have been agreed we might confirm any final illustration desires, colors, details, etc.

Our works are hand drawn and painted. I will always send you the final sketch for review and approval prior to putting paint down, so any last minute adjustments can be made prior to painting and rendering.  Once artwork is finalised and rendered, I am happy to tweak digitally, sizing colors, etc., to get it right, however it is my hope you have trust in me as your artist to make informed final decisions. All and any edits or adjustments to artworks are to be made through myself. If there are major changes requested post painting, it will incur an additional hourly fee to accommodate for my time, at my current rate.

I ask that you also remember you are hiring a fine art type illustrator when working with me. Any exclusivity is to be discussed on case by case basis. The rights of the art created are non exclusive by default and will be maintained by myself. As an artist it is important to me that I maintain copyright to the imagery being used and created.  Please note, I work actively within the fine art and visual art field and any art created with care for your project will also be subject to portfolio inclusion, gallery viewing, and resale thereof. Our artwork is never to be used to train AI or in any AI related endeavor.

I can't wait to work together! Should you have any further questions please do not hesitate to reach out directly.

See you soon love.
